Penis enlargement

According to research, many men are unhappy with their penis size and experience psychological or physical discomfort because of it. This leads to problems of a sexual nature, indecision in communicating with women and the development of various complexes. The desire to gain self-confidence and harmonize his intimate life forces a man to seek help from a doctor. There are many techniques that allow you to eliminate this deficiency and feel like a full man. These include both non-surgical procedures and surgical interventions. With the help of operations, you can restore the penis after injury or eliminate congenital anomalies.

How to achieve the effect

A man is satisfied with the result of surgical penis enlargement

In modern medicine, there are different ways to enlarge the penis. Plastic surgery can modify certain parts and capabilities of the manhood or recreate it as an entire organ. Thanks to the operation, not only an improvement of the external forms is achieved, but also the preservation of all its functions.

All known surgical procedures aimed at changing the size of the penis are aimed at increasing its length or thickness. To lengthen the penis, a ligamentotomy is performed (dissection of the suspensory ligament of the penis). The following techniques are used to increase both penis volume and thickness:

  • penile prosthesis (implantation of a prosthesis in the body of the genital organ);

  • lipofilling (introduction of one's own fat cells into the internal tissues of an organ);

  • introduction of a collagen matrix (capsules that stimulate the production of your own connective tissue);

  • placement of gel implants (between the skin and the shaft of the penis);

  • microsurgical muscle transplantation (transplantation of muscle tissue with the formation of an organ);

  • hyaluronic acid injections (replenishment of missing volume).

So, turning to a specialist for help, a man receives:

  • restoration or preservation of penile function;

  • give aesthetic shapes;

  • elimination of defects after diseases, developmental anomalies and injuries.

There are also non-surgical methods of penis enlargement using various devices and exercises. Extensions, expanders, tensioners and vacuum pumps are becoming particularly popular. However, doctors warn that their independent use for stretching the penis not only does not lead to the desired result, but also leads to damage to the corpora cavernosa, tunica albuginea, nerves and blood vessels, as well as erectile dysfunction.

Penis enlargement with exercises is also ineffective. These are massage movements in the form of stretching, compression and rotation. No study has shown any benefit. In addition, the use of organ stretching exercises can lead to erectile dysfunction and damage to blood vessels, bruising and swelling of the penis area.

Indications for penis enlargement

Many men tend to underestimate the size of their reproductive organ. Its normal erect length is believed to vary from 12 to 18 cm, its diameter is 3 to 3. 5 cm. Its average length in men is 15. 7 cm. A penis less than 9 cm is considered small and less than 2 cm. is considered a micropenis.

If you have doubts or dissatisfaction with yourself, you should consult a doctor who, depending on the specific situation, will recommend one of the methods of a conservative procedure or surgical intervention. The operation can be performed both for aesthetic correction purposes and for medical reasons, including:

  • small penis and micropenis;

  • congenital anomalies of the urethra;

  • injuries to the penis;

  • traumatic amputation;

  • deformation resulting from diseases;

  • elimination of the consequences of operations on male genitals;

  • erectile dysfunction;

  • difficulty urinating;

  • sex change.

Contraindications

The main requirement before surgery is to assess your general health and identify possible contraindications. Surgical correction is not carried out in the following cases:

  • under 18 years of age;

  • blood clotting disorder;

  • Acute infection;

  • sexually transmitted infections;

  • diabetes;

  • mental illness;

  • chronic diseases with serious pathology.

Preparing for penis enlargement

Through surgery you can increase both the length and volume of the penis.

Once a man has decided to adjust his penis size, the question arises: which doctor should he consult? Penis enlargement surgery is one of the fields of reconstructive plastic surgery and urology. Plastic surgeons specializing in urology or andrology deal with problems of changing the size and shape of the male genitals. Before the operation, a consultation with the operating doctor is necessary. The doctor will suggest the type of intervention necessary, depending on the indications. This may involve a complete restoration of the penis (total phalloplasty) or a restoration of part of the penis, changing its shape or size.

To avoid complications, the doctor prescribes a thorough examination. The list of instrumental and laboratory research methods includes:

  • fluorography;

  • ECG;

  • general blood test;

  • blood chemistry;

  • coagulogram;

  • blood test for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis;

  • general urine analysis;

  • a smear from the urethra to detect infectious agents.

After examination and exclusion of all possible contraindications, the doctor sets a date for the operation. During surgery under general anesthesia, a consultation is held with an anesthesiologist, who must be informed about the presence of allergic reactions and the possible use of medications.

Several months before the procedure, you must stop smoking and drinking alcohol. At the preparatory stage, you should adhere to a gentle diet. 8 hours before the procedure, the pubic hair is shaved. If an operation is planned under general anesthesia, at least 8 hours must pass after the last meal or liquid.

However, surgical correction is not always necessary. If a man wants to enlarge his penis for cosmetic purposes, the doctor may recommend non-surgical methods - hyaluronic acid injections, which do not require special preparation.

Carry out penis enlargement

There are different types of surgeries to change the size of the penis. Each of them has its own indications, advantages and disadvantages.

Ligamentotomy

Ligamentotomy is the most popular type of penis enlargement surgery. It takes place under general anesthesia and lasts 30 minutes to 1 hour. A small incision is made on the anterior surface of the scrotum. Thanks to it, the suspensory ligament, which connects the genital organ to the pubic bone, is partially divided. After that, the penis is lengthened up to 2-3 cm due to the release of its internal (hidden) part. Usually, the operation is carried out at the request of the man; it does not help with erectile dysfunction.

Penile prostheses

Penile prosthesis is used to treat impotence or for the purpose of complete plastic surgery when removing a penis or changing sex. Prostheses are rigid and semi-rigid, with two and three components. Rigid prostheses are silicone tubes implanted in the corpora cavernosa. They ensure a constant erection, which is not always practical. Semi-rigid (plastic) prostheses have a special design and have plastic memory. Before intercourse, the prosthesis is extended, moving the penis from a suspended position to an erect state and then bent again.

Two- and three-component inflatable and self-inflating prostheses are more physiological. It is a system of tanks and tubes. By pressing on the scrotum, a special pump is activated, which fills the hollow prosthesis with air or liquid from a hidden reservoir. A three-part penile prosthesis more faithfully reproduces a natural erection.

The operation is performed under spinal or general anesthesia. Its duration is approximately 1 hour. The location of the incision depends on the type of prosthesis - along the coronary sulcus (at the junction of the head and shaft of the penis), in the scrotum or under the pubis. Parallel channels are formed between the shaft and the skin to the root of the penis and prostheses are inserted. They increase the thickness of the penis by up to 50-70%.

Lipofilling

This operation is carried out more for aesthetic purposes. With the help of lipofilling, you can even out the shape and increase the thickness of the penis by 2-3 cm. Due to the increase in gravity as the organ thickens, its length in the non-erect state also increases.

Local anesthesia is usually used to relieve pain. Adipose tissue is taken from the pubic region, abdomen, thighs or buttocks of the man and injected along the shaft of the genital organ using a microneedle. The operation lasts 1 hour. If necessary, the patient can stay at the clinic overnight.

Introduction of Collagen Matrix

For aesthetic reasons, with the aim of enlargement, special absorbable capsules (collagen matrix) are introduced into the penis, which stimulate the organ to produce its own connective tissue.

To do this, on the day of the procedure, 50 ml of blood is taken from a vein to obtain stem cells, which are then implanted on a matrix. After that, under general anesthesia, a circular incision is made along the edge of the head of the penis and a collagen matrix is placed under the skin of the penis. It consists of two cylinders with a cutout at the location of the urethra. Within 3 to 6 months, the matrix resorbs, but its own connective tissue forms in its place, so the increased size of the organ remains forever. The diameter of the penis can increase by 1-1. 5 cm. The effect of using matrices largely depends on the individual characteristics of the patient.

Placement of gel implants

Silicone gel implants are installed under the skin along the side surfaces of the penis. With their help, it is possible to increase the thickness of the genital organ up to 1. 5 cm. The operation is performed under general anesthesia for 1 hour. These implants do not cause rejection or allergic reactions; it is impossible for them to penetrate the hull, even if it ruptures. If necessary, they can be deleted.

Microsurgical muscle transplantation

Microsurgical muscle transplantation is performed for aesthetic and medical reasons. For medical reasons, the operation is carried out if there are consequences of injury, congenital pathology, previous diseases of the penis, micropenis, sex change due to hermaphroditism.

This operation is considered a complex surgical procedure and is carried out under general anesthesia for several hours. Muscle tissue from the chest or abdomen is used as a graft. The muscle flap is sutured to the tissues of the penis, the vessels and nerves are sutured.

In case of removal of the penis due to oncology or traumatic amputation, total phalloplasty is used. In this case, the organ is created from scratch. This operation is also used for sex change. To do this, a skin flap and a nerve are usually taken from the rear area and the penis is formed according to the model. Its size will depend on the patient's wishes. An attachment point is chosen on the pubis, to which the muscles are sewn. After repairing the penis, the doctor microsurgically connects the veins, arteries and nerves. Then the surgical wound is sutured and the functioning of the nervous and circulatory system is checked. The result is a penis that is similar in appearance and function to an organ that has not undergone surgery.

Hyaluronic acid injections

There is another non-surgical method to enlarge the penis: hyaluronic acid injections. The drug is easily administered, well distributed in the tissues and compensates for the missing volume. This method makes it possible to increase the length of the organ by 1 to 3 cm and its thickness by 3 to 5 cm. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and lasts 10 minutes. Using a fine needle, a preparation based on hyaluronic acid is injected under the skin of the penis. Over time, its biological degradation occurs. The effect usually lasts up to a year. The procedure can then be repeated.

Hyaluronic acid injections are also used to enlarge the glans. This procedure is indicated if the head diameter is equal to or less than the barrel diameter. To do this, under local anesthesia, 2 to 5 ml of hyaluronic acid gel are injected under the scalp.

Lengthening of the frenulum - frenuloplasty

In some cases, men have a short frenulum (the area between the head of the penis and the foreskin). This can create discomfort or cause pain during sexual intercourse. To eliminate this problem, frenuloplasty is performed. This operation is performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Using a scalpel or laser knife, the frenulum is cut through a transverse incision then sutured longitudinally using self-absorbent threads. The procedure takes 15 to 20 minutes.

After the procedure

After surgical correction of the penis, observation by a doctor is necessary.

The length of the recovery period depends on the volume and type of surgical intervention.

After the ligamentotomy, the patient remains under observation in the hospital for 2-3 days. The stitches are removed after 2 weeks. After surgery, it is necessary to limit physical activity and sexual activity for 1 month. To get a better effect, you need to wear a stretcher (or extender) for 6 months after surgery. It is designed to prevent repair of the cut portion of the ligament. An extender is a special stretching device made individually for each patient. It should be used up to 6 to 8 hours per day for 2 to 6 months. It does not cause any particular discomfort when worn. In this case, the length of the penis increases up to 3-5 cm. It remains constant and does not change over time. The final result depends on the individual characteristics of the body. To avoid complications when wearing an extender, you must strictly adhere to the recommendations of doctors.

Penile prosthesis is considered a minimally invasive operation with a short rehabilitation period. After the operation, the patient stays in the hospital for 1 day. Sexual rest is recommended for 1. 5-2 months.

The rehabilitation period after lipofilling lasts approximately 1 month. The operation is minimally traumatic, so the recovery period is quick and without complications. To avoid damage to transplanted fat cells after surgery, it is recommended to limit sexual activity for 2 months. Sports activities must be postponed for 1 month.

The postoperative period after the introduction of the collagen matrix is 2-3 months. The patient is under observation in the hospital for another 1 day. Sexual contact is limited throughout the period of matrix resorption.

After the gel implants are placed, the patient is observed in the hospital for another 1 day. Sexual activity and physical activity are allowed after 1 month.

The recovery period after microsurgical muscle transplantation lasts 2 months. After the operation, it is necessary to remain under observation in the hospital for 2 weeks. Physical activity and sexual life are limited for 2 months. Urination is only allowed using a catheter installed in the bladder. In case of total phalloplasty, the rehabilitation period lasts six months. During this time, the urination process begins and an erection is restored.

After hyaluronic acid injections, intimate contact is limited to 3-4 weeks. You should refrain from visiting the sauna and taking hot baths for 2 weeks.

The rehabilitation period after frenuloplasty lasts 1 month. During this period, you must abstain from sexual intercourse.

In some cases, if you do not follow your doctor's recommendations, complications may occur. From the first suspicious symptoms, you should not postpone your visit to the clinic. Possible complications after phalloplasty:

  • stricture of the urethra;

  • violation of innervation of the penis;

  • erectile dysfunction;

  • penis reduction;

  • inflammation;

  • bleeding;

  • scarring and tissue deformation;

  • graft rejection.
